What God won't ask you

God won’t ask the square footage of your house, but will ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

God won’t ask about the fancy clothes you had in your closet, but will ask how many of those clothes helped the needy.

God won’t ask what your highest salary was, but will ask if you compromised your character to obtain that salary.

God won’t ask how much overtime you worked, but will ask if you worked overtime for your family and loved ones.

God won’t ask how many promotions you received, but will ask how you promoted others.

God won’t ask what you did to help yourself, but will ask what you did to help others.

God won’t ask how many friends you had, but will ask how many people to whom you were a true friend.

God won’t ask in what neighborhood you lived, but will ask how you treated your neighbors.

"You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his/her own improvement and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to who we think we can be most useful."

- Lech Walesa

    FUTURE VISION

      HOME
Igniting the fire in you
The future belongs to the young who are upright, hardworking and visionary. Our aim is to create such group of workforce who will be able to handle any situation in life from spiritual to mundane. They will be men/women of character and wherever they will go they will make a difference. This work force will come from the young boys and girls of the age between 20 and 35. They will be trained to be self-confident. While the manual work and exercises will take care of their physical health; study, music, writings, public speaking will take care of their mental aspect and meditation, yoga and prayer will take care of spiritual development.

The minimum qualification will be 12th pass and who are ready to accept any work for their self-development will be accepted as Trainee. After one year of training they will be free either to stay and work for this mission or chart an independent life elsewhere. Decision regarding acceptance of candidates will be taken by the Executive Committee. The total seat number will be 10 persons (5 boys and 5 girls) to begin with. The economically backward persons will be given preference.

Senior people (between 40 and 60 years of age) who want to join as a member of the dedicated group of workers should be free from family responsibility. They should posses a degree in any discipline or higher qualification. They also have to undergo one year training suitable for their age. They will also be looked after by the Institute for their board, lodging and pocket money. They will also be subject to health insurance and deposit scheme. Only selected candidates with sound health and mind will be accepted. (Only 5 such people will be taken)

A meditation hall dedicated to the Divine Souls who aspire to lead a divine life will be built to accommodate 100 people for meditation.

We will also accommodate people who are serious about spiritual life and who have burnt their boat behind by helping them lead a quiet life (not more than 5 persons ).

"These mountains are associated with the best memories of our race: Here, therefore, must be one of centers, not merely of activity, but more of calmness of meditation, and of peace and I hope some one to realize it."

Swami Vivekananda (replying to the address given to him by the people of Almora)

1. To be above 6000 ft. from the sea level.
2. The icy peaks of the Himalays to be clearly visible throughout the year.
3. To be surrounded by forest area.

The study of Sri Ramakrishna Kathamitra, The complete works of Swami Vivekananda, The Bhagwad Gita, Upanishads, Savitri, Letters on Yoga, Synthesis of Yoga, Collected works of Ramana Maharshi and his life, Autobiography of a Yogi, and life of great spiritual personalities in India, Indian Culture and other great civilizations of the world will be taken up for studies during the training. They will also undergo training on computer usages, emails, website making, DTP etc.

Thus getting inspirations from such great lives and treatises, we believe, the trainees will be able to stand on their own legs and lead a happy, peaceful and prosperous life. The seniors will also be able to live a satisfied life at the Institute.

The Institute aims at a status to become independent financially through funds generated by internal accruals and donation without a rider.

VIVEKANANDA INSTITUTE OF HUMAN EXCELLENCE

"If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don't! If you want to win, but think you can't, It's almost a cinch you won't.   If you think you'll lose, you're lost; For out in the world we find Success begins with a fellow's will; It's all in the state of the mind.   Life's battles don't always go to the stronger and faster man, But sooner or later the man who wins is the man who thinks he can."
Walter D. Wintle

"Religion should unite all hearts and cause wars and disputes to vanish from the face of the earth, give birth to spirituality, and bring life and light to each heart. If religion becomes a cuase of dislike, hatred and division, it were better to be without it, and to withdraw from such a religion would be a religious act. For it is clear that the purpose of a remedy is to cure; but if the remedy should only aggravate the complaint it had better be left alone. Any religion which is not a cause of love and unity is no religion.

- Bahaullah

"We are all born with a divine fire in us.  Our efforts should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness."
